Saph Pani practitioners'day, Mumbai, India

On the 21st of November 2013, a practitioner’s day was organized by IIT Bombay.

The 30 participants first visited the Bhandup water works in the suburbs of Mumbai. It is one of the largest water works in Asia and provides drinking water for about 10 million people. Different lakes in the mountain area are the source for the drinking water supply.
Secondly a newly built waste water treatment plant was visited in Navi, Mumbai. Domestic wastewater is being treated by the Cyclic Activated Sludge Technology (C-Tech) which works as a sequential batch reactor. It was impressive to see the operation of the treatment plant and to discuss the processes with the sewage treatment plant engineers.
